OCALA, Fla. -- An elderly woman who was volunteering with her church group Monday night was kidnapped at knife-point, robbed and beaten unconscious by a masked man who hid in the backseat of her car.

The 69-year-old woman was feeding the needy near NW 3rd St. and Magnolia Avenue until 9:30 p.m. When she got in her car to go home, a masked man sprung from the backseat, put a knife to her neck and told her to drive, according to the Ocala Police department.

The man guided the woman towards the Ocala National Forest and told her to pull over to the side of the road. He then put a rope around her neck, dragged her from the car and beat her with a weapon known as a "Black Jack," according to police.

During the beating the man said, "You rich [expletive]s think we need your help?!" The man then demanded her money.

Bloodied and bruised, the woman was pulled back in to her car and ordered to drive back to Ocala. The man then put his hand over the woman's mouth, so she bit him so he took out her dentures and threw them out the window, according to OPD.

The man then told the woman to pull over in the Kmart parking lot located at 3711 E. SR40 where he beat her until she was unconsciousness.

When she came to, the man was gone. She walked to a nearby Metro PCS store and called police.

The woman had bruising on her face, arms and abdomen and was transported to a local hospital.

Ocala police are searching for the suspect. He is described as a white male, about 5-foot-9 and he was wearing a dark shirt, gloves and a mask.
