ATLANTA -- A mother of 4 is under arrest after leaving her kids in the car to go grocery shopping.
Twenty-eight year old Charnae Mosley is charged with four counts of reckless behavior.
This is different than other so-called hot car cases because Mosley left the windows of her SUV open, but police say her actions were still incredibly dangerous.
"The most important thing is that the children are okay, they're with their grandmother," said APD Public Information Officer Greg Lyon.
Crying, and still in their car seats, the 4 young children were driven away by their grandmother Monday night.
The Department of Family and Child Services spoke to their family and police before letting them go.
"It's the south, it's summertime, it's hot, it's humid. Whether it's animal, family pet, of course your child, don't leave them unattended in a vehicle," said Lyon.
Police say their Mom was inside Kroger grocery shopping for 16 minutes when a Good Samaritan spotted the kids.
EMS came to check the kids out, and while they are okay, Sgt Greg Lyon says everyone's lucky this didn't end differently.
"So many bad things could have happened, we can't stress enough, parents, find someone to watch your children or bring them inside with you. Find a way to bring them inside," he said.
The Grandmother of the children told 11Alive News their mother is a good person who made a bad decision.
