JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One person was killed and two others were injured following a motorcycle crash Sunday night.

The crash occurred around 9 p.m. on Heckscher Drive North of Ramoth Drive, according to a report from the the Florida Highway Patrol

The FHP report says two motorcyclists were driving south on Hecksher Dr. when for unknown reasons the driver of a Black Suzuki, 52-year-old Mildred Nellie Foster, lost control and drifted towards the shoulder and guardrail.

The driver of the Honda Shadow lost control as well and put the motorcycle down on the pavement after colliding with the guardrail.

Foster was transported to UF Health Jacksonville where she later died. Foster was wearing a helmet, according to FHP.

Bill Goodwin is a longtime friend of Mildred Nellie Foster. Her friends called her "Midge"

"A very sweet girl. A beautiful lady. A good friend, a good rider," Goodwin said.

Foster worked as a bartender her at the world famous bull tavern. It is such a tight knit-group, friends said she was like a sister.

"I'm sad and I'm hurt. I'm still in a state of shock over it. I just saw her yesterday," Goodwin said. "I see her pretty much every day."

Troopers say, the driver and passenger of the Honda Shadow had minor injuries. They were both wearing their helmets at the time of the crash.

"We're going to definitely miss her and she was a beautiful person and an exceptional rider," said one of Midge's friends, Michael Coffman said. "One of the last rides I took was with her and she was excellent."

Goodwin said he regularly rode motorcycles with her. Like members of a family, they have a memorial for her and they've begun taking donations to help pay for the unexpected funeral of someone they deeply cared for.

"...Live on in the hearts of all of us, I'm sure." Goodwin said about her spirit and personality.
