APOPKA, Fla. -- Two teens were hit and killed while pushing their broken-down car in Apopka on Friday night.

Authorities with the Apopka Police Department said a man driving a sport utility vehicle hit the teens from behind near Rock Springs and Welch roads.

Investigators said there were four teens in the group, and one of them was able to get out of the way while another was steering the car.

Officials said the car was being pushed to the side of the road but was still partially in the travel lane at the time of the crash.

The driver of the SUV stopped at the scene. No charges have been filed, but an investigation is underway.
