JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man in a motorized wheelchair was struck by a car while crossing Roosevelt Boulevard Sunday morning.
The man, 52, was taken to UF Health with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the man in the wheelchair was crossing the road illegally when he was hit by a gold Lexus traveling southbound just before 9 a.m.

The Lexus was traveling through a green light when it hit the man and ejected him from the wheelchair.
All southbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard at Birkenhead Road were shut down for hours as crews worked to clear the scene.
The driver of the Lexus is not facing any charges, JSO said.
