One of the Internet's best known hosting companies experienced widespread outages Monday.

First Coast News checked the site around 3:00 pm after numerous reports started crossing the Internet and social media.

Gooddaddy.com acknowledged the issue on Twitter saying, "Status Alert: Hey, all. We're aware of the trouble people are having with our site. We're working on it."

The Los Angeles Times, TechCrunchand CBS Newsreported the hacker group Anonymous took responsibility for the problems, which reportedly have affected email and Godaddy.com hosted websites.

First Coast News was unable to reach the site's URL, receiving an error message.

Godaddy.com has gained widespreadnotorietyafter years of advertising during the Super Bowl.
