FLL releases a "Challenge" each fall based on a real-world scientific topic.

Each "Challenge" has three parts: the Robot Game, the Project, and the FLL Core Values.

Teams of up to 10 children, with one adult coach, participated in the Challenge by programming a robot to score points on a themed playing field and developing a solution to a problem.

Around 250 children and adults participated in the event.
