JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Nassau County man faces a federal charge after investigators allegedly found more than 12,000 files of child pornography on his electronic media.

John Dewey Todd, 60, of Fernandina Beach was arrested and charged with producing and attempting to produce child pornography, according to a release from the office of Acting U.S. Attorney A. Lee Bentley III.

When Todd's home was searched on November 15 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, he told them he had been collecting child porn for the past "couple years."

Todd directed authorities to the 12,000 files of child pornography, which were found on external hard drives, thumb drives, discs and two computers, the release detailed.

If convicted, Todd faces 15 to 30 years in federal prison.

The case was investigated by ICE HSI, JSO and the Nassau County Sheriff's Office.
