JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two teens were shot late Sunday night outside a nightclub in the Brooklyn neighborhood, near Downtown.

Patrons of Da Tunnel club in the 300 block of Park Street were leaving the nightclub around 11:20 p.m., when multiple shots were fired outside in the back parking lot, according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office homicide Sgt. Michael Paul.

Two teens, 18-year-old Darrell Rutledge and a 16-year-old were struck by the gunfire. The 16-year-old victim was taken to UF Health Jacksonville by a friend in life-threatening condition and went into surgery. Rutledge was transported by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue to UF Health Jacksonville after being struck in the arm or leg and is in stable condition.

A blue 2007 Chevrolet HHR and a gray 2003 Dodge Dakota were also struck by the unknown shooter.

According to Sgt. Paul JSO is interviewing witnesses, but JSO does not have any leads or suspects at this time.

Da Tunnel Club hosts a teen night on Sundays according to Sgt. Paul. Two teens were shot outside the same club in Nov. and at the time of the incident police believed the incident could have been gang related.

After Sunday's shooting, teens in the parking lot rushed back inside. Da Tunnel Club owner Jerome Jordan said his club serves food during the day and is sometimes rented out for parties. He said he will never again rent out his club for a teen gathering.
