PALATKA, Fla. -- Police in Palatka are looking for two men who allegedly robbed a convenience store Thursday.

Around 8:30 Thursday two unidentified suspects, one armed with a firearm robbed the Mobil Gas Station located at 900 Reid Street.

According to witnesses, the two men entered the store, ordered two patrons to the floor and ordered the clerk on duty to give them the cash from the cash register.

After obtaining cash from the register, one suspect hit the clerk on the head with the cash drawer.

They fled from the store, according to police.

Suspect one was described as a black male, 5-foot-8, thin build wearing a black shirt over a red hoodie. The second suspect was described as a black male wearing a white shirt and dark pants.

Both suspects had some type of cloth or clothing wrapped around their heads concealing their faces. The gun was described as black in color, possibly a sub machine gun.

The clerk was found to have minor injuries from the blow to the head and received medical attention at the scene.

Officers responded to the area and attempted to locate suspects.

No suspects in the robbery have been apprehended.
