JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man faces life in prison after he was found guilty Thursday for his role in a 2011 murder.

Elliott De' Jhavon Barnett, 22, was convicted on charges of attempted armed robbery and first degree murder, according to a release from the State Attorney's Office.

Barnett, Rasean Vann and Chequial Williams planned to meet up with William McFaline, 34, in May 2011.

McFaline was sitting in his car when Barnett got out of his car, tried to rob McFaline and then shot him seven times, according to the release.

Vann turned himself in shortly after the McFaline's murder and he and Williams have pleaded guilty to attempted armed robbery and second degee murder charges.

Barnett is scheduled to be sentenced the week of Dec. 19.
