ATLANTIC OCEAN -- The first day was busy. Lots of military moving all around the ship.

Tugboats carried the USS New York our of Norfolk, Virginia around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The ship is one of the newest in the fleet. It's also very large. Inside there are lots of tributes and memorials for the victims of the September 11 attacks.

Now - when this ship arrives - about 300 sailors will be on board.

Many of them will be calling Jacksonville home for the first time.

Many even brought their personal cars on the ship. The master chief of the USS New York told FCN Wednesday everyone's more than excited - and optimistic.

Many sailors have already moved their families to Mayport or in Jacksonville.
