JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The new and improved has local navigators working diligently to enroll consumers.

"It is getting busiereveryday," said Tatiana Ramirez.

Ramirez is a navigator with the Health Planning Council and works out of an office at UF Health hospital and We Care Jacksonville.

"A lot of people have not even tried to enroll, so they want to learn," she said. "Others are concerned because they have experience the problem with the website."

She said now that the troubled website has been updated, those who may have had problems in the past may find it more friendly.

"Now the website has a great tool where you can go in and reset the application and start all over again," said Ramirez.

We created an account to see how the website responds and the process was relatively easy.

"It is much better than it used to be," said Ramirez.

But easy is relative. Dr. Sarala Srinivasa has been trying for weeks with no success,she came to Ramirez office for help.

"My husband has tried for weeks," said Srinivasa. "And he has had no success."

When we left the office, they were still working on a resolution to her problem.

Ramirez said if you expect to have insurance coverage starting January 1, 2014, you have to be enrolled by December 23.

She said with the changes if you complete your application online you will know if you are eligible within 15 minutes.

"I would like people to know we are accessible to them," she said.

Navigators can be reached five days a week at the UF Health Financial office between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
