JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man was hit by gunfire as he sat on the porch of a Westside home on Tuesday night.
Police responded to a home in the 3300 block of Dillon Street around 10:07 p.m., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Two men were sitting on the front porch of a home in the Lackawana neighborhood on the Westside when a car drove-by and fired shots. Clarence Gallon was struck in the torso and the other man was not injured.
Gallon was taken to UF Health Jacksonville in non life-threatening condition for treatment.
Police have not identified a suspect, however a gray Pontiac with dark tint is believed to have been involved. The man sitting on the porch with Gallon, who was at the side of the house when the shooting started, "saw a 'flash' and heard five loud gunshots," according to the JSO report.
The unknown suspect faces charges of Aggravated Battery and Shooting/Throwing Deadly Missiles Into Dwelling. Anyone who has any information about the shooting is asked to contact JSO at 904-630-0500.
