JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a violent 24 hours. Since Monday morning, there have been six shootings, all over the city.
The first happened around 2:30 Monday morning in the 6800 block of Philips Highway. A car was found abandoned with blood on the inside. Soon after, police say two men withnon-life threatening gunshot wounds showed up at a local hospital.
Mondayevening, on the Westside, just before 5 p.m., a man was shot in the 5100 hundred block of Indian Lake Court. He later died at UF Health. According to the Florida Times Union, this is the city's 100th homicide.
Around 6 p.m.,shots were fired at an apartment complex off Harts Road on the northside. Police found a man with a gunshot wound.
About an hour after that, another shooting on the northside. Police responded to the 1900 block of Talladega Road and found a man who had been shot in the leg. He is being treated at a local hospital.
About 7:30 p.m., shots were fired, wounding a pedestrian and hitting a house in the 1000 block of Fairfax Street on the northwest side of Jacksonville. The victim is being treated at a local hospital.
Early Tuesday morning, JSO was called to the 100 block of East 8th Street in regards to an armed robbery. According to witnesses on scene, a man with a gun shot another man after robbing him. He drove off in the victims car.
