The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to an armed robbery that sent one to the hospital early Tuesday morning.

The victim, 47-year-old Michael Rene Arbery, was walking home from a grocery store when he was approached in the 100 block of East 8th Street by an armed suspect, according to JSO.

The suspect allegedly demanded money from Arbery and then shot the victim twice. The victim was struck in his side and in his leg.

The suspect allegedly took the Arbery's car keys and fled the scene.

Police are looking for a white 1998 Ford Mustang with Florida tag L751T.

Arbery is currently in non-life-threatening condition at UF Health Jacksonville. The investigation is ongoing.
