JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man was arrested Wednesday for the deadly Westside shooting of 26-year-old David Bouthillier, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Troy Sharvonta Sirmons, 20, allegedly shot and killed Bouthillier, according to JSO.

Police responded to an apartment in the 5100 block of Indian Lake Court and found David Bouthillier with a gunshot wound to the stomach around 2:45 p.m. Monday afternoon.

According to Bouthillier's girlfriend, Shantrell Jarrell, Sirmons went to the apartment and got into an argument with Bouthillier. The incident was also witnessed by Jarrell's mother.

Sirmons left the apartment after the verbal altercation but returned after Jarrell's mother left the residence and shot Bouthillier.

Sirmons fled the scene and Jarrell called 911.

Bouthillier was taken to UF Health Jacksonville where he died as a result of his gunshot wound.

Jarrell positively identified Sirmons in a photo spread as the person who shot and killed Bouthillier. Jarrell's mother also identified Sirmons as the man in the verbal altercation with Bouthillier.
