JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 25-year-old man was shot in the torso after multiple shots were fires at a Northside apartment complex.

Multiple 911 calls came into the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office around 5:55 p.m. reporting shots fire at the River Oaks apartments in the in the 11200 block of Harts Road, according to JSO Lt.Shawn McCormick.

Troy Latham, was struck in the torso and was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with non life-threatening injuries, according to McCormick.

An investigation is underway, and a motive is not known at this time.

JSO is stepping up patrols in the area to ensure a police presence is felt and people feel safe.
