JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A teen was shot while walking down the street in the New Town neighborhood Monday.

Multiple shots were fired from a car, hitting a 17-year-old walking in the 1000 block of Fairfax Street Monday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. A home was also struck by the gun shots.

Police responded to the scene around 6:33 p.m. and said no one inside the home was injured. The unidentified male victim was taken to UF Health Jacksonville where he was later interviews by police.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no suspect at this time.
