JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- The woman police believed may have been abducted early Sunday morning has been located and is unharmed, according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda.

JSO initially alerted the media about a reported abduction on the city's Northwest side at 5:36 am Sunday.

Police identified the potential victim as Kenya Nicole Mitchell, 27, and, at the time, said they believed a 23-year-old man may have kidnapped Mitchell.

Mitchell returned home at about 8:30 am, and told officers that she hadn't been kidnapped or harmed.

"She doesn't make any claims of abduction or of abuse," Bujeda said after Mitchell was found.

JSO later determined that no crime was committed.
