WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- Police arrested an HIV-positive Winter Haven man Saturday on charges he held his girlfriend and her son against their will, doused the woman with gasoline, and forced her to have unprotected sex with him.

In an arrest affidavit, Winter Haven police said 48-year-old Glen Davis and the woman, identified as his girlfriend, got into an argument on Halloween. Police say Davis grabbed her by the neck, doused her with a can of gasoline, and threatened to ignite the fuel.

The woman said he locked all the doors, disallowed any use of cell phones, and held a pair of scissors at her neck. The woman's son said that Davis also grabbed him by the neck and threatened to pour gasoline on him.

Both victims said the man poured gas on the kitchen table and lit a fire.

Investigators from Winter Haven Fire confirmed the table had been burned, and another fire had been lit with a pile of clothes by the front door.

Some time after these incidents, as the woman lay in bed, she claims he demanded sex and refused to use protection. She said she begged the man to use a condom, but he refused. She said Davis forced her to have sex without protection.

The woman contacted police after a relative spoke to her on Saturday, two days after the incident.

Davis is charged with battery, false imprisonment, two counts of arson, two counts of aggravated battery, sexual assault, and criminal transmission of HIV.
