PALM COAST, Fla. -- A string of crimes that began with an armed robbery of a Chinese food delivery driver ended in two arrests after a chase that spanned three states.

Guiseppe Verdone, 22, and a female juvenile are believed to have been the two people who attacked Ming Gong, 43, when he attempted to make a delivery of Chinese food to a Palm Coast home, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives said Verdone and the juvenile called King's Palace, which Gong owns, and placed a delivery order to a vacant home.

When he arrived at the home, detectives said Verdone assaulted Gong and described himself as a law enforcement officer before handcuffing Gong and placing him in the back seat of his vehicle.

The suspects then allegedly pushed Gong from the moving vehicle on Palm Coast Parkway leaving him with serious head injuries.

Gong was airlifted to Shands Hospital in Jacksonville where he underwent surgery and is listed in serious condition, according to FCSO.

Verdone and his companion then headed north and allegedly committed an armed robbery at the Citgo gas station in the 2800 block of US 1 in St. Augustine Saturday evening.

The suspect allegedly sparked a stun gun and threatened the clerk, but did not fire it before leavingwith an unknown amount of cigarettes and money.

Gong's stolen vehicle and the two suspects were located early Sunday morning in Liberty County, Georgia where a chase ensued.

The two were stopped in Hardeeville, South Carolina and arrested. They are being held in the Jaspar County Detention Center in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

The stun gun was located in Georgia, which the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office believes linksVerdone to the crime.

Verdone, who has been arrested four previous times in Flagler County since 2010, and his accomplice are facing possible charges of kidnapping, aggravated battery, robbery and grand theft.

The incident is still under active investigation and no formal charges have been filed.

The two also face charges in South Carolina, Georgia and St. Johns County.

According to authorities, Verdone has been arrested in Flagler County eight times.
