JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A woman was found guilty this week for the 2012 death of Robert Scott.
According to a State Attorney press release, 28-year-old Merienne Star Blake was convicted for murder in the first degree and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
The release says in March 2012, Blake and co-defendant, Enrique Pajaro arranged to meet Scott at Blake's home to get high. Blake and Pajaro stole the drugs, smoked them and then attacked the victim in his sleep.
Scott tried to defend himself, but Blake and Pajaro repeatedly beat the victim with a hammer and choked him to death. Scott's 3-year-old daughter was in the home at the time of the attack, the release says.
In May 2013, Pajaro was convicted for charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and murder in the first degree. He received life without parole, plus five years in prison.
Blake is scheduled for sentencing on October 28 and faces life in prison.
