ORLANDO, Fla. -- A friend of a Chechen man shot to death in his Orlando apartment by an FBI agent has been deported from the United States.

Immigration and customs enforcement officials confirm Tatiana Gruzdeva left the United States last week. She was taken into custody when she tried to get an extension of her work visa.

The civil rights group, Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR, claims she was told she was being deported for talking publicly about her friend, Ibragim Todashev.

Todashev was killed in May while being questioned about his friendship with Boston Marathon bomber, Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

Officials originally said the Chechen man lunged at an agent with a knife. They later said it was no longer clear what happened.

In September, another friend of Todashev's, Ashurmamad Miraliev, was arrested and charged with tampering with a witness or informant.

Miraliev was living in the same Orlando apartment where Todashev was shot.
