JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man is charged with two counts of murder in deaths of two men who were killed during a June home invasion robbery in which he participated.

Antonio Joshua Lenton, 24, and three to four armed men allegedly kicked open the front door of a home in the 2000 block of Oak Water Drive and attempted to rob the six men inside.

The armed men told the six people to lay on the floor, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrest report. One of the men went to a bedroom and armed himself. Once he returned to the living room, he fired the gun, striking three suspects.

Aaron Harris and Lawrence Franklin later died as a result of their injuries. Lenton sustained four gunshot wounds and was treated at UF Health at Jacksonville.

Franklin's body was later discovered in the parking lot of a veterinary clinic about 2 miles from the home that he broke into.

Lenton was stopped Tuesday by a Florida Highway Patrol officer and arrested on an active warrant for two counts of murder and one count of home-invasion robbery. He admitted to being at the home invasion robbery scene, but denied shooting anyone, according to JSO.

JSO Assistant Chief Chris Butler said Lenton was charged because his accomplices were killed during the crime.

"When an individual commits a home invasion robbery such as this and one of his accomplices is shot and killed, then he's responsible for that and that's where we get the felony murder charge."

Butler said JSO is still investigating witness accounts of a possible fourth suspect.

Lenton is being held in the Pre-Trial Detention Center and is not eligible for bond.
