ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Bessman Okafor was sentenced to life in prison on Friday afternoon after being convicted in an Orange County home invasion.

Okafor was sentenced to life on all five counts he faced. He was given credit for one year of time served.

Okafor and Nolan Bernard were found guilty on all counts, which include robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The two tied up four people and robbed them at gunpoint at an Ocoee home in May 2012.

They face multiple life sentences.

Okafor is charged with killing 19-year-old Alex Zaldivar a day before the home invasion trial was originally supposed to start last year. He'll stand trial on murder charges next year.
