JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Justice Coalition handed out a special award for Outstanding Courage and Bravery on Thursday night.

The award went to the 9-year-old who survived an attack at a Best Buy back in August.

This is one of nine awards that will be presented to those who have gone above and beyond to help innocent victims of violent crime.

That 2013 Champions of Justice Awards Dinner was held at the Morocco Shrine Center Thursday.

"Ella," as she was referred to at the event, got an all expense paid trip to Disney World and the blue princess dress she's been wanting.

First Coast News has blurred her face to protect her identity. She spoke briefly and thanked the crowd.

"She not only had the courage to save her self but she was also there fighting and when she fought the way that she did and when she was rescued she saved many other children's lives that evening," said Ann Duggar, the Executive Director of the Justice Coalition

The man charged with the attack, 29-year-old James Patrick Tadros is behind bars and due back in court later this month.

Just last week a judge granted a motion for a mental health evaluation. He is facing several charges including attempted murder.
