VERO BEACH, Fla. - A Fla. teenager accused of having a sexual relationship with her underage girlfriend has had an apparent change of heart.

Hunt had a sexual relationship at age 18 with a 14-year-old schoolmate at Sebastian River High School. She was expelled from school in February and then arrested in May, touching off a national firestorm of media coverage and debate.

On Thursday, Hunt is expected to plead no contest to five lesser counts and have no contact with the victim. She would not have to register as a sex offender, which was a key sticking point when the first plea deal was offered.

Also, she'd avoid a felony conviction on her record, and eventually could have the entire ordeal expunged.

The Vero Beach teenager has been in jail without bond for six weeks for violating a pre-trial no contact order.
