NEW YORK - Shellie Zimmerman told the "Today Show" on Thursday morning that she doesn't know her husband any more and has doubts about his innocence.
Earlier this month, Shellie Zimmerman called 911 claiming her husband was getting violent with her father. She recorded the argument on her iPad. Her attorney claims George Zimmerman smashed the device in anger.
She said she stands by her story that she thought he had a gun during the dispute.
"I did not see a gun, but I know my husband. I saw him in a stance and a look in his eyes that I've never seen before," she said. "He was putting his hand in his shirt and saying, 'Please step closer, please step closer.'"
She said she regrets not pressing charges after the incident but said she didn't want any more legal issues.
She said she has doubts about his innocence in his second-degree murder trial but believes the justice system worked. She also was adamant that her husband did not profile Trayvon Martin.
"I think anyone would doubt that innocence because I don't know the person that I've been married to," she said.
Shellie Zimmerman has filed for divorce, but her attorney said they have not been able to serve the paperwork because they don't know where George is. She said she is focusing on herself now and has lost 40 pounds since the trial.
