COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) -- U.S. Attorney's officials say a man has been indicted for calling in a bomb threat to the headquarters of Carmike Cinemas in Columbus, Ga.

Officials said Tuesday that 59-year-old Keith Bowers, of Jessieville, Ark. was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation late last week on an indictment stemming from a call he's accused of making to the company Aug. 16, 2012.

Prosecutors say Bowers is accused of calling the company's headquarters from Texas and threatening to detonate an explosive device during a movie at a Carmike movie theater.

Bowers is charged with transmitting threats in interstate commerce, and it's unclear if he has an attorney.

Officials say Bowers faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
