JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Transportation Authority will have to look for a new place to get federal money. The U.S. Department of Transportation dished out $474 million in Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery, or TIGER, grants.

The skyway was not one of those projects that will receive money. The city was asking for $10 million. JTA would like to expand to the Brooklyn area along Riverside Avenue.

There are about 4,000 daily rides now. According to the Times Union, the expansion would add 1,250.
