Proctor & Gamble is voluntarily recalling some of its Iams andEukanuba dry pet foods, because of salmonella contamination concerns.
Thecompany says there have been no reports of any salmonella-relatedillnesses. But it says routine testing revealed a limited amount of foodwas produced under conditions that could potential for contamination.
Salmonellacan cause diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite and lethargy in dogsand cats. People can also contract salmonella by handling contaminatedpet food.
The recalled products all have best-by dates ranging from November 5, 2014 to November 14, 2014.
Consumerswho purchased the recalled pet food should stop using it, and discardit. Consumers can contact P&G toll-free at 800-208-0172.
