JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a possible abduction Thursday night.

The alleged abduction occurred near the 10900 block of Biscayne Boulevard around 5:30 p.m., according to JSO.

The victim is believed to be a female in her late thirties with long blonde hair and a petite build. She was last seen wearing jeans shorts and a maroon tank.

A witness claims to have spotted the woman appearing to be in distress, to get away from a vehicle when she dropped her purse near the 10900 block of Biscayne Boulevard. An unknown white male picked up the purse placed it in a vehicle and then the female was physically picked up and placed inside the vehicle. This incident prompted the witness to call 911, according to JSO.

A tweet from JSO states the suspect vehicle is a white Dodge Durango with black fender flares. The suspect is described as a tall, white male with gray hair wearing jean shorts and a baby blue shirt.

The vehicle was last seen heading East on Dunn Avenue.
