JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The University of North Florida is one of the best colleges in the Southeast for the fifth consecutive year, according to the nationally known education services company, The Princeton Review.

In the "Best in the Southeast" section of The Princeton Review's website feature "2014 Best Colleges: Region by Region", UNF is one of 138 institutions it recommends.

"We're pleased to recommend the University of North Florida to users of our site as one of the best schools to earn their undergrad degree," said Robert Franek, Princeton Review's senior vice president and publisher. "We chose UNF and the other institutions we name as 'regional best' colleges mainly for their excellent academic programs."

For this project, the Princeton Review asked students attending the schools to rate their own schools on several issues-from the accessibility of their professors to quality of the campus food-and answer questions about themselves, fellow students and campus life.

Student comments in the UNF profile said that the University possesses "all aspects of a huge state college with a much more laid back feel" and that "cultural diversity seems to be celebrated by students and faculty."

The 138 colleges the Princeton Review chose for its "Best in the Southeast" are located in 12 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

The Princeton Review also designated 226 colleges in the Northeast, 124 in the West, and 155 in the Midwest as best in their locales on the company's "2014 Best Colleges: Region by Region" lists.

Collectively, the 643 colleges named "regional best(s)" constitute about 25 percent of the nation's four-year colleges. The Princeton Review doesn't rank the 643 colleges in its "2014 Best Colleges: Region by Region" list hierarchically or in various categories.

UNF, a national ranked university located on an environmentally beautiful campus, offers students, who are dedicated to enriching the lives of others, the opportunity to build their own futures through a well-rounded education.

The Princeton Review, headquartered in Framingham, Mass., is an education services company known for its test-prep courses, tutoring, books and other student resources. For more information, visit www.princetonreview.com.
