JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Over the last month, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has had seven jet ski's reported stolen in the Jacksonville area.

The thefts are occurring along the St. John's River in Arlington and Jacksonville's Northside with the majority being stolen from private docks.

JSO is working with the St. John's County Sheriff's Office as they are experiencing similar thefts.

What you can do to protect your jetski:

•Owners are reminded to secure personal watercrafts the best that they can.

•Keep all keys and fobs in a secure location away from the watercraft.

•Be vigilant with watching the docks in your neighborhoods for suspicious persons and report all unusual behavior immediately to police.

•Anyone purchasing a used watercraft is encouraged to verify the information and serial numbers with a personal watercrafts dealer.
