PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) -- A man is dead following a police standoff at a Pinellas Park house.
Police say the standoff began following a domestic disturbance Tuesday evening. The woman left the home, but three male relatives arrived a short time later to confront 43-year-old Paul Adjutor Doyon Jr. Police say Doyon pulled a gun and all four men began to fight. The gun fired at some point, prompting the call to police.
Witnesses reported that Doyon had retreated into the house with the gun. SWAT responded and made several attempts to contact Doyon. SWAT eventually sent a surveillance camera into home and saw the Doyon was not moving. After SWAT entered the home, paramedics confirmed he was dead.
A medical examiner Wednesday morning determined the preliminary cause of death to be loss of blood from cuts, not a gunshot wound.
