JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Two men are in jail for allegedly robbing a man in a Southside hotel parking lot.

A man in the parking lot of the TownePlace Suites Jacksonville Butler Boulevard in the 4800 block of Lenoir Avenue was approached by two unknown males. The potential victim was able to run inside the hotel to get away from the suspects, according to Det. Royal with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

A short time later the same two male suspects approached another victim in the parking lot of the Extended Stay America Hotel in the 4600 block of Lenoir Avenue, Det. Royal detailed. The victim was walking to his car when the suspects approached and asked the victim for a cigarette. When the victim complied, the suspects allegedly jumped on the victim and robbed him of personal property.

Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spotted one of the suspects a short time later and the suspect allegedly attempted to run away from them, but was caught. During the arrest of the fleeing suspect, the second suspect approached police wanting to know what was going on, Det. Royal stated. The second suspect was taken into custody at that time.

The suspects were positively identified by both victims and JSO does not believe there are any other outstanding suspects.
