WAYNESVILLE, Ga. -- The suspect in the double stabbing off Old Post Road in Brunswick is now also a suspect in the murder of 22-year-old Amber Whited.
20-year-old Raymond Michael Brasiel's grandfather said he's been in the hospital with his wife and was disappointed in hearing about the charges against his grandson.
"All this takes place while I'm gone. I just come back today to find my house a wreck, I get a half a dozen conflicting stories about what's happened," said Roy Brasiel, the suspect's grandfather.
Brasiel said his grandson has been livingat his hishome in Waynesville for the last six months.
"Thisboy and his mother have jeopardized my home. He's jeopardized our lives," said Brasiel.
Brasiel doesn't have all the details on why Glynn County Police believe the 20-year-old is the suspect in Amber Whited's death, but said his grandson has a checkered past.
Brantley County Clerk of Court records show Raymond Brasiel has had four arrests since 2009 for statutory rape, manufacturing meth, criminal trespass and theft by taking and simple assault. Two more charges of murder and aggravated assault have been added with the double stabbing that killed 50-year-old Bobby Lee Jenks and injured 46-year-old Mickie Lee Jenks. Now, Glynn County Chief of Police Matt Doering said a murder charge for Amber Whited is on the way for Raymond Brasiel.
"As a father and a grandfather, I understand their sorrow and their pain because I too have a pain, but I cannot ever say, tell you what it feels like to have your husband taken from you, your life in danger like that," said Brasiel.
Brasiel had his first appearance in court for the murder and aggravated assault charges. His next hearing will be next Friday.
"Asfar as my family goes, somewhere down the line God has got to step in here, something's got to happen, somebody's got to change something here. I guess from here out it's in God's hands," added Brasiel.
