Cory Monteith's autopsy is being conducted today, the Vancouver police department confirms, without revealing a specific start time. Results are expected to be expedited and will be released this week.
The investigation has been turned over to the city's coroner's office, according to Sandra Glendinning of the Vancouver PD.
Monteith, who starred on the Fox show Glee, was found dead on Saturday at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver. And more details are emerging about his final days.
According to E!, the Glee star visited the East of Main Café, where he ate last Thursday with Canada-based casting director Maureen Webb and his manager, Elena Kirschner. She posted a photo of the actor on Twitter with the following message: "Great meal with good friends."
TMZ.com also recapped the actor's last days, saying he spent them hanging out with friends in Vancouver and enjoying a few cold ones.
Monteith was also reportedly spotted hanging out Friday night at two local watering holes, the Roxy and the Queen's Republic Nightclub.
Meanwhile, Monteith's final film is oddly prescient. In McCanick, which has no distribution, he plays a drug-addicted street hustler who goes to prison. An e-mail to the production company, Eagle Films, did not receive a response.
