SANFORD, Fla. -Trayvon Martin's mother and father were not present in the courtroom as the not guilty verdict was read in the George Zimmerman trial late Saturday night.

They voiced their reactions through Twitter.

"Lord during my darkest hour I lean on you. You are all that I have. At the end of the day, GOD is still in control. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I will love you forever Trayvon!!! In the name of Jesus!!!" said Sybrina Fulton.

"God blessed Me & Sybrina with Tray and even in his death I know my baby proud of the FIGHT we along with all of you put up for him GOD BLESS," his father, Tracy Martin said. "Even though I am broken hearted my faith is unshattered I WILL ALWAYS LOVE MY BABY TRAY."

Attorneys for the family addressed the media at the courthouse after the verdict, saying they advised Martin's parents to go home so they could be at church the next morning.

Attorney Daryl Parks said they were saddened by the verdict but they accept it.

Attorney Benjamin Crump said the family wanted to thank the supporters from all over the world.

"To everybody who put their hoodies up, and everybody that said 'I am Trayvon,' the family expresses its heartfelt gratitude," said family attorney Benjamin Crump.

Crump asked that the media respect the family's privacy.
