After George Zimmerman was found not guilty of second-degree murder and manslaughter, athletes quickly took to Twitter to share their reactions on Saturday.

Here is a sampling of what some athletes had to say:

@DwyaneWade: "How do I explain this to my young boys????"

@CP3 (Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul): "WoW!!! Prayers out to the Martin family..."

@roddywhiteTV: "All them jurors should go home tonight and kill themselves for letting a grown man get away with killing a kid"

@StevieJohnson13: "Living in a world where you fight dogs; you could lose everything (Mike Vick).. If you kill a black man you're not guilty! #INjusticeSystem"

@JonVilma51: "I get if you're mad about the verdict. I don't get going out and looting/rioting 5min from where you live. Be constructive not destructive"

@AdrianPeterson: "My Heart goes out to the Martin Family! Keep the Faith! #God is in control, He's the one and only Judge!"

@Jones_Drew32 (Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew): "I've tried to get my thoughts together about this Martin trial. I just don't understand how u can kill a child and go home. Sad day"

@Highway_30 (Philadelphia 76ers forward Royce White): "Our justice system is broken! Attorneys skills are deciding cases, might as well be sport, theatre. Justice should be more thorough. #Reform"

@DeseanJackson10: "That's the face he make after killing a young black mans life ! Smh http://instagram.com/p/buvgJpONuK/"

@sfujita55 (former NFL linebacker Scott Fujita): "Who really failed here? The prosecution? The jury? No. The laws in the state of FL failed. Be constructive in response. Focus on change."

@ajgreen_18: "Praying for the Martin family ..... Smh ..."

@SwinCash: "These tears right now in my eyes are for Trayvon's family, for my nephews for my unborn son(God willing one day) this is so hard to bare!"

@dontestallworth: "Instead of rage & anger, let's direct that emotion towards a positive movement. Like education, poverty & black on black crime in the hood."

@LennoxLewis: "Hoping the same outrage & energy for young blacks being killed by guns is also directed to places like Chicago. #TrayvonMartin"

@brendon310 (NFL free agent linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo): "I guess murder is OK."

@Isaiah_Thomas2: "People are about to go crazy now. SMH!!!!!!!"

@EricLeGrand52: "Racism is still alive, people can say some really ignorant things"

@TJLang70: "Did the jury get it right? I can't answer that question.. But a kid lost his life and it all could have been prevented."
