OCALA, Fla. (WESH) -- Police now have "persons of interest" in the killing of a 40-year-old man found gunned down on the side of an Ocala road last night.

About 9:30 Friday night, police received a call that a man had been shot on Southwest 3rd Street.

The victim is Julius Jacobs, whom witnesses said, was involved in a dispute with three men before shots were fired.

His former pastor said Jacobs, released from prison in 2011, was a dedicated church member.

Jacobs was a member of the men's choir for the "Welcome Stranger Missionary Baptist Church."

His was also the father of five children ages 4 to 22.
