Den Bosch, Netherlands (Sports Network) - Saturday's grass-court final at the $235,000 Topshelf Open will pit fourth-seeded Belgian Kirsten Flipkens against red-hot Romanian Simon Halep.
Halep remained perfect on grass this year with a 6-3, 6-2 upset victory over third-seeded Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro, while Flipkens booked her spot in the final with a 6-3, 6-1 pasting of Spanish qualifier Garbine Muguruza on Day 6 at Autotron Rosmalen.
The 21-year-old Halep is fresh off her first-ever WTA title in Germany last week and an unblemished 9-0 on grass in 2013. She's 1-3 in her career finals overall.
The 27-year-old Flipkens will appear in her second career WTA final, seeking a second title. Her lone tour championship came in Quebec City last season.
Halep is 2-0 lifetime against Flipkens and this will mark their first meeting on grass.
The winner of this final Wimbledon tune-up will collect $43,000.
