JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- The brawl at Jacksonville Beach over Memorial Day weekend is prompting the city to make some changes for the 4th of July.

There will be numerous law enforcement agencies present at the "Stars and Stripes at the Seawalk Celebration".

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is warning beach-goers to not consume alcohol in public, saying violators will be arrested.

Police also say to not ignite fireworks in crowded areas.

Those aren't the only changes: A planned "pub crawl" on the 4th of July at the beach has been moved.

904 Happy Hour, which was promoting the "Independence Day Pub Crawl" has decided to move the event to July 6th.

In a statement to First Coast News, the president of 904 Happy Hour says:

"We support the family-friendly atmosphere the mayor is trying to create on the 4th of July in Jacksonville Beach.

"Moving the event to Saturday has brought on several local businesses, making a total of 7 participating venues."
