TAMPA, Fla. -- The City of Tampa tweeted a picture of a kitten in distress just before noon Thursday, as the animal had apparently become stuck in a wall at the Twiggs Street Parking Garage.

Parking garage employees alerted authorities after hearing meows coming from a narrow crack in the wall.

Tampa Fire Station ENG1 responded, and firefighters quickly -- and gently -- pulled the small kitten out to safety.

The cat was handed over to Animal Services for evaluation, and is expected to be put up for adoption.

Per Hillsborough County Animal Services, if you are looking to adopt the kitten, please visit www.petharbor.com and use reference number 042919.
