JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The winner of the $590.5 million Powerball jackpot is from Zephyrhills, Fla., but has a connection to the First Coast.
Gloria Mackenzie, 84, had just moved to the Westside to live with her son, according to neighbors.
The neighbor said they are "very nice people" and "totally deserve it." She said she heard Mackenzie and her family leave around 8 a.m., but had no idea it was them.
Madden Advisory Services, Inc., who was named as Mackenzie's financial services firm, said the family wants to keep their privacy.
"We are respecting the wishes of our client. They would like to maintain their privacy, so we have no further comment."
