ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The St. Augustine Alligator Farm may be one of the most quintessential Florida tourist destinations.

And it's had plenty of time to earn that distinction and definitely deserves its own Twitter hashtag.

It opened in 1893, 120 years old, across the street, where it would now be several hundred feet in the ocean.

26:23 "this pool is from the 1920s."

The pool from the 1920s is the oldest and first exhibit visitors see here. Despite all the new features, there's something fascinating about seeing a pit of forty gators.

And besides a glass of orange juice... The alligator farm may be the number one Florida Thing.

If you can think of something more Florida, tweet @LewTurner with the hashtag #FloridaThings.

It's open every day 9-5 and until 6 during summer.
