Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Raffi Torres scored the game-winner 5:31 into overtime as the San Jose Sharks took a 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks in Game 2 of this Western Conference quarterfinal series.
Patrick Marleau had tied the game with 55.1 seconds left in regulation and the Sharks grabbed a 2-0 series lead in the extra session.
Brent Burns blocked a left point shot in his own end and picked the puck up in the neutral zone. Skating down the right wing on a 2-on-1 break, he fed the puck over to the left wing where Torres one-timed it home for the victory.
Joe Thornton scored in the first period while Antti Niemi made 29 saves for the Sharks, who will head back home for the next two games with Game 3 set for Sunday night.
Ryan Kesler had a pair of third period goals for the Canucks, who got an assist from each of the Sedin brothers.
Roberto Luongo got the starting nod again as Cory Schneider is battling through an undisclosed injury. Luongo got the loss after allowing all three goals on 30 shots.
