FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A man has been convicted of killing a northeast Florida man and stealing his car.

A Nassau County jury found 47-year-old James Perry Turnage guilty Thursday of second-degree murder and grand theft auto. He faces a possible life sentence at a hearing next week.

The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/13SpFLy) reports that 51-year old Kirk Thomas Westfall was last seen in October 2010 in Yulee at his son's football game. His body was found two months later in a wooded area in South Carolina near the home of Turnage's father. Turnage was also spotted driving Westfall's car in South Carolina.

Before Westfall went missing, Turnage had been staying in a travel trailer on Westfall's property. Turnage fled after Westfall went missing and was eventually arrested in New Jersey.
