CRESCENT CITY, Fla. - A Putnam County woman is behind bars after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend.
Deputies with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office responded a battery complaint on the 100 block of Pine Forest Circle Thursday night, according to a release from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived the alleged victim claimed his girlfriend, 28-year-old Shemia Washington, stabbed him at least two times, the release detailed.
The victim alleges that he and Washington were arguing verbally, which turned violent when Washington grabbed a kitchen knife.
Washington alleges she was attacked by the victim and claimed self defense. However, according to the release, Washington's story did not match up with the victim's.
Washington was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and is currently housed in the Putnam County Jail facing bond of $25,004.
